As a Kagi User - I'd love if Kagi entered the job search world.
Right now job searching is in a terrible state - with bad incentives and scams ruling the discussions around them.
Perhaps Kagi is in a good position to fight for the users (and job seekers) by enhancing Kagi with a job search functionality that:
- Surfaces job postings directly from company websites.
- Assesses third party postings for ghost-jobs or scams and derank them.
- Surfaces more relevant jobs for a query. (Fun fact, try searching for "linux" jobs on Linkedin - it doesn't even slightly work)
A user of this feature would use it to find and apply to jobs.
Other apps in this space are part of the problem:
Indeed - Full of scam or ghost listings, search is relevant, but often out of date. The incentives are to show company sponsored listings rather than be truly relevant to the end user.
Linkedin - Made their advanced searches "paid". "Free" searches are irrelevant and don't return any of what the user asked for. As an example, attempt to search for Linux jobs, and then weep as you see roles for Janitors in the response.
Dice - Too exclusive, not enough results. Falling to the "sponsored listing" problem that other platforms have.
Kagi, save us! You are our only hope!
