For ethical reasons, I only want to use open-source (or at least open-weight) models. It would be nice if the model selection screen in the Assistant showed which models are open-source/open-weight. Alternatively, if this would create too much clutter, it could be hidden somewhere in the documentation.
An additional suggestion would be a setting to only show open-source or open-weight models in the model selection.
For the first suggestion: Open either the model selection popup or the Kagi help and find labels/icons next to the list of models separating them into three categories: Open-source, Open-weight and Proprietary.
For the second suggestion: Have a setting in the Assistant settings screen with three options:
- Show all models
- Show open-source and open-weight models
- Show open-source models
The models in the selection popup will be filtered accordingly.
