Using the Research assistant to create images with Nano Banana is great, except that it takes a while to generate an image. So I end up doing other things while it works and come back to it. Unfortunately, Kagi has also implemented a baffling 10 minute expiration on generated content, so by the time I come back, I don't have an image and I have to try again. Rinse and repeat.
This is sort of doubly bad since generations with Nano Banana via Research assistant wind up costing about $0.25-50 each, so I only get so many in a billing period.
I'm not sure I understand why there would be a timeout that is shorter than the duration of the thread, especially for temporary threads that self-destruct in 24 hours anyways. If there absolutely has to be one for some reason, it should be at least 1hr, bare minimum. Use authenticated access to create short-term tokens for accessing the images to keep them secure, but refresh them when the thread reloads!
