I had this happen again earlier today, but an even worse failure this time.
- On mobile I searched for "1 year old heat exposure" expecting to find e.g. NHS guidance on sunstroke.
- Again, I had safe search enabled.
- I'm afraid I did not get a screenshot at the time, but the second result in the list was blatant pornography. The domain was something like xnxxx (i.e. it had xxx in the domain and was unmistakably a porn site) and the title started something like "Old man blah blah".
- Ignoring the fact it was unsafe, the link also appeared to be completely unrelated. No keywords in common.
- I've tried to replicate the above in the last hour and it is no longer happening, but I am shocked that safe search could fail so badly. I would not currently trust Kagi with family or younger users. Certainly some guardrails need to be in place on what is returned or the feature is pointless.
- Possibly it is related to this issue: https://kagifeedback.org/d/7935-nsfw-result-for-completely-unrelated-search
