Since Safari can’t be configured to use Kagi as embedded search engine and Safari for iOS and iPadOS won’t allow users to set Kagi as a homepage and make new tabs open with the homepage, I’d like to suggest adding a homepage functionality to the Kagi for Safari extension.
There should be a method to “provide” a homepage that can be selected on iOS and iPadOS, since there’s an app that does exactly that: https://apps.apple.com/at/app/homepage-for-safari/id6481118559
It would be fantastic if the Kagi for Safari extension would contain this feature without having to install and use another extension.
The Kagi extension would provide an alternative homepage to Safari for iOS and iPadOS. Users could select to open new tabs with Kagi instead of the integrated start page. So every time a user opens a new tab, it loads Kagi.com by default. This makes it easier to use Kagi with all its functionality rather than using the Safari integrated search bar.

The yellow line says “Open new tabs with … Start Page”
