Markdown support in Assistant

I like to use Assistant for coding or sysadmin tasks and many tools in this space support GitHub-flavored Markdown for formatting and syntax highlighting code blocks. I don't know if the ``` code formatting helps with supplying context, but I use them out of habit regardless. But, Kagi Assistant doesn't process them visually so they look rather ugly in my chat sessions.

Kagi Assistant will neatly format code snippets it provides. I'd love to see that formatting applied to user-supplied input as well. I've attached a simple example to illustrate what I mean.

This is mainly a cosmetic issue that would make chat logs in Kagi Assistant nicer to look at.

nirvdrum Do you think people would be interested in more options for Assistant chat rendering through a browser extension? I was planning on incorporating prism.js for my own sanity, to format user messages with code blocks.

@Nashwan I don't want to dissuade you, but a browser extension wouldn't be ideal for me. One of the reasons I love Kagi is because of privacy preservation. While I'm sure you have good intentions, I'd be uncomfortable with a 3rd party reading all of my Assistant chats just to render content. Plus, I also use Kagi Assistant on mobile devices and likely won't be able to use a browser extension there at all.

I'd find a GreaseMonkey/ViolentMonkey solution more compelling. But, this also seems basic enough that I'm holding out hope that Kagi will implement it for Assistant.

I also think some better formatting would be very helpful especially as I start using the assistant for more and more code related queries. Something similar to the options available even in creating these replies would be a great start.
