Brave browser omni bar search queries containing a hash (#) are truncated after the hash

From a Brave browser omni bar; searching for "Does F# support monads? becomes the search string "Does F" when Privacy Pass is on.

Work-arounds:
1) Switch off Privacy pass
or
2) Search from the kagi.com web-page search bar
or
3) Search from Firefox. Works with Privacy Pass on or off.

The search query shouldn't be truncated.

This looks like either Brave isn't URI-encoding the query, or there's an issue with privacy pass interacting with Brave.
