What happened? How did it happen? What are the steps to replicate the issue?
When performing a search with results included due to fuzzy interpretation of the query, the inclusion of the intitle: operator can exclude results even for webpages that contain the title. This is best shown with an example.
When I search PTD800W site:https://support.brother.com/g/b/spec.aspx, the results include variations of the same webpage but for specific regions with these titles:
Specifications | PT-D800W | Others | Brother
Specifications | PT-D800W | United States | Brother
Specifications | PT-D800W | United Kingdom | Brother
I wanted to apply the same search query but with an additional filter term to limit results specific to the US region. But when I search PTD800W intitle:"United States" site:https://support.brother.com/g/b/spec.aspx or PTD800W intitle:(United States) site:https://support.brother.com/g/b/spec.aspx, there are no returned results.
However, I do get the results I sought when I correct the missing hyphen from the product name and perform all three searches again:
PT-D800W site:https://support.brother.com/g/b/spec.aspx
PT-D800W intitle:"United States" site:https://support.brother.com/g/b/spec.aspx
PT-D800W intitle:(United States) site:https://support.brother.com/g/b/spec.aspx
See screenshot below.
What did you expect to happen? Describe the desired functionality.
When comparing two queries, one without the intitle:... and one with intitle:..., I expected the query with the search operator to return the results from the query without the search operator that were confirmed to have the specified text in the title.
