Currently, it seems that Ki (the multi-step assistant) is unable to reference the custom instruction set in Settings > Assistant > Custom Instructions. This was confirmed to me by @thibaultmol on Discord.
In this small section, I've including my country of residence so that the assistant can find information more relevant to me when necessary. Unfortunately, since Ki doesn't use this info, I have to specificy it manually each time I use it for something related to my country.
I understand that some cases may prevent the normal functioning of Ki, but I feel like many people use this instruction in a similar manner to myself, for which it wouldn't (or at least, shouldn't) hurt its performance. For myself and these other people, this adjustment would be highly appreciated.
Alternatively, an option could be to allow a drop-down to select a country to relate queries to, which limits different input possibilities, and as such my problem would at least be solved, while ideally minimizing impact that custom instructions could have on Ki's performance. Though this does also limit the versatility of information you can automatically share with the Assistant, so it isn't quite a perfect solution.
Thanks for your consideration.
As above, the custom instructions are useful to include a little bit of personal information to get more accurate and more closely related results to the user, through e.g. country of residence, age, state or province, etc.
