Search operators (e.g. "term", -term, site:example.com), should have a subtle "syntax highlighting" to improve readability and feel of using them.
These could be something like red for -term, green for "term", with the colors being user-definable either in settings or custom CSS. The colors should be slight (something like solarized) but readable and easily distinguishable.
