I use Kagi Translate quite a lot, and in the past, every time I needed to translate just one word or phrase independently, I used the !tr bang and then navigate the specific language selection I needed. In order to simplify the process and make the flow faster I added custom bangs to some languages, the dictionary, and the website translation tool.
I suggest adding these, or a variation of these, to the available bangs, so that users don't have to manually add them. I feel that having them available instantly would promote Kagi Translate to new Kagi Search users, and would let experienced ones further hasten their translations.
My recommendations:
([lang] == ISO 639 "Set 1" codes, [language] == ISO 639 "Language Name")
Possible extra additions
- Kagi Translate Website (Auto)
Bang: !trweb/!trwebsite
URL template: https://translate.kagi.com/%s
Notes: I don't think enough people would use this in other languages to merit adding !trweb[lang]/!trwebsite[lang] for all languages separately, though it would be a possibility, in which case the following template should be used: https://translate.kagi.com/[lang]/%s - Kagi Translate Webpage to [language]
All of the above should also redirect without a query back to their translation type
I am aware that it is possible to share new Bangs on the KBE, but I feel these should be included in the base bang registry as it serves both the interests of Kagi and the vast majority of its customers
