Allow to login using protonmail identity provider .

you have l/p, login with google, login with ms, with github, would you consider login with proton?!
you seem to be in the same category of privacy preserving services.

login with proton, add the icon and contact proton.me service to get the identity provider in order to allow login using protonmail service.

batuhan It seems like SimpleLogin (a Proton subsidiary), does have an SSO service, but I've literally never seen it used in the wild, so unsure if it's popular enough to justify adding it.

batuhan SimpleLogin allows you to "login with proton" so I do believe they have it, but it needs probably some sync between proton and kagi since it's not offered openly afaik.

I think it justifies adding it as it provides better privacy than login with Google.
Also, I believe that many Kagi users have a Proton account. And finally, the global popularity of tools and services does not represent the actual habits of most Kagi users.

By better privacy I'm talking about company incentive.

ak42 Sure that’s fair, but the reason I say that is because (afaik) Proton != SimpleLogin. I only learned they’re related recently (from this very forum); I’m an avid Proton user and had never even heard of SL. According to their page they also only have ~50k users, hardly more than Kagi.
If there’s demand amongst Kagi users for SL then hell yea add it. If it’s something that’s going to be used by like 3 people tho it might make sense to spend that dev time elsewhere.

I’ve never seen this in the wild and it may be a Proton-only service. There’s no indication of any implementation or API and largely nothing indicating Proton is even considering this based on community requests I’ve seen.

You see it with SimpleLogin because it’s a Proton product.

Yep, the suggestion was maybe this could be implemented by contacting proton and ask to "collaborate" ? 🙂
