Backtick input in Assistant brocken

When entering backticks (`) in the assistant window, the behavior is really weird for me both on Firefox as well as on Chromium:

Pressing it once shows the backtick (so far so good)
Pressing again changes nothing (usually the cursor should move behind the backtick)
Consecutive presses lead to no changes at all, the cursor is completely stuck on the first backtick

Something is still happening though, since pressing it 10 times requires 5 backspaces to remove it again. The backticks don't show up in the assistant though.

It doesn't seem like I can reproduce this in Chrome or FF. Could you perhaps record a video of the behavior you're describing?

Any chance there's a common extension you're using that might be interfering?

Sure. Fresh install of Chromium without any extensions except for the show key extension (but it happens without the extension too). Noticed that it actually also happens in the search page, so went with that as an example instead. It doesn't happen in the settings if that helps.
