Semi-frequently I'll ask the Assistant to provide a source for a claim as a clickable link. At least when using DeepSeek R1 these appear as plain unclickable title text with no associated URL. If I ask for a table that separates the title from the plain text URL, it will give it to me, so I know the information is there.
This time, I thought to check the "Thinking" section, and it claimed that it knew it should use Markdown to provide a clickable link: "The user wants a clickable link, so I need to format these URLs properly as markdown links. According to the guidelines, URLs should be formatted as Link text."
It knew the URL in the Thinking section, but somehow it never reached the answer that was provided to me. Are you maybe stripping out Markup in a way that prevents this? It would be nice if this worked, since I frequently need to check its sources when makes false claims.
When I ask for a "clickable link", I'd like to have something I can click on as a link rather than plain text.
