Sort of the opposite of bangs/snaps, instead of a shortcut to certain sites, add the capability to add shortcuts to certain search terms. For example, if I often search for items pertaining to William Blake, I might want a shortcut that automatically appends that term to my search.
Perhaps the tilde key could be used as a shortcut, like ! is for bangs. In the above example I might then set ~wb as the shortcut for "William Blake". I think this could really speed up workflows for users that often search for multiple things around the same topic.
