When I go to https://kagi.com/settings and click on "billing" under "family" it tells me I am on the Duo plan.
"Duo $151.20 (+tax) per year Users: 2/2
Total family searches this period 1,221
Next renewal is 2025-11-27
Last payment was USD $185.98 on Nov 27, 2024
"
When I click "Users: 2/2 Manage" I get a list of my two users (me and my child) which I previously set up, and beside each I see buttons "professional" and "ultimate" with "professional" pre-selected.
However when I am in the help screen and I type "what plan am I on" into the "Kagi Sidekick" box in https://help.kagi.com/kagi/ it tells me:
"You are currently on the Starter plan, which includes 300 searches per month for $5. If you find that you need more searches, you can upgrade to the Professional plan for $10 per month, which includes unlimited searches. You can also check your current search usage on the Kagi website."
I don't understand the relationships between all of these plan names "Duo", "Ulitimate", "Professional" and "Starter" and what plan I am actually on.
Also when I try to do the above on a mobile device it is very confusing - I couldn't find it at first but then eventually found I had to click menu icon on right, settings, another menu icon on left, and scroll down to underneath "family" to eventually find the "billing" option. I think "Billing" should just be on the main menu when you are on the Kagi home screen.
Also, although I have paid for a family plan, I am not sure my child is actually using their own Kagi profile or just my general Kagi account.
This is all very confusing from a user perspective.
Ideal set up:
When user is on Kagi home screen, they can easily see if they are logged in or not. If not, there is a login option. If they are logged in already there is "account" option.
If they click "account"
- they can see their current plan and billing details, and have the ability to change that if needed, also a link to an information page or help about what features they already have access to and how to best use those features.
- if it is a family account, they can see what user profile they are currently using Kagi under (ie which family member), with an option to switch user (which would require re-entry of a password or pin to prevent children doing this themselves".
