Hi,
I’ve been using Kagi for over a year and I love it. However, I wish it would remember my search queries and resume them after I log in. Sometimes, when I clear my website data, I’m greeted with a login page when I try to search for something. I understand that I need to log in to use the service, but it’s annoying to have to type my query again after being prompted to log in.
Persistent Search Resumption After Login:
• Suppose a user starts a search (e.g., “best laptop for programming”) but is logged out due to clearing cookies or browser data.
• When they attempt to search again, Kagi prompts them to log in.
• After logging in, instead of being redirected to a blank search page, Kagi should retain the original query and immediately display the search results.
2. Reducing Friction for Privacy-Conscious Users:
• Many users regularly clear their cookies and site data for privacy reasons.
• Without query retention, these users must re-enter searches each time they log in after clearing data.
• Persisting the last attempted query enhances usability without sacrificing security.
