Not sure if @Vlad wants Kite suggestions here or not yet but here goes:
I really like the way news items are displayed in Kite, especially how the "Did you know?" section surfaces interesting info one might have otherwise skimmed over in a full article. A lot of these snippets make me want more info, for example:
I'm now curious how much US-Mexico trade amounts to.
Much like how the Summarizer has a "Continue in Assistant" option, I think it might be a good idea to put similar functionality in Kite.
A "Continue in Assistant" button could be added to the bottom of a Kite story. This would, much like Summarizer, start a new Assistant thread with the relevant stories and info. Users could ask questions about a story, ask for more info on something in a story not provided in the original articles, ask for related stories, etc. A preset custom Assistant could be leveraged for this, much like the default code Assistant.
I'm obviously unsure about the UI changes coming to Assistant, but if possible it would be neat to embed the Kite story inside the Assistant UI (separate from the context and prompt given to the LLM), giving users access to the original story without needing to switch tabs.
There could be a "reverse integration" of Kite and Assistant too. In this case a user might ask the Assistant to provide them with the latest news on a topic, or an overview of today's news. Kite could be leveraged in this instance to do so.
