The verbatim help page update would be very helpful, thanks. As I understand it now, verbatim search is synonymous with an exact phrase search. The same results should occur by quoting the whole search string, right?
However, my issue is primarily with search operators, especially mixed Boolean AND and OR searches with parentheses. The major search engines seem not to respect the AND and OR searches. Kagi seems a little better but still isn't perfect. For example, the following search:
Le +"Creuset" Signature Cast Iron Round French Oven Casserole +("30cm" OR "30 cm") +"satin"
I often open the page, and search for the keyword "satin" or "30cm" (or "30 cm") and it's not there. Is it possible that it's hidden in CSS or HTML, or an old version of the page, and not findable with the web browser?
Also, are the quote and + redundant? Or does the quote prevent variations on the word such as plural and the plus require it to be present in the page?
The search operators help page could be clarified. For example:
AND — Finds webpages that contain all the terms or phrases, for example: sweaters (christmas AND ugly)
Does this mean results will be given that do not contain "sweaters", equivalent to the following?
sweaters +christmas +ugly
Are all search terms flexible unless using search operators? This is the help page that could use a lot more detail:
