Website randomly jumps back to search results.

I'm using Kagi extension on Safari for Mac. Kagi is set as my default search engine, redirecting Ecosia.

I search using the address/search bar in Safari. I receive results. I click on a result and read the website.

Fairly often, seemingly randomly, the page jumps back to the search results while I'm reading.

I cannot intentionally reproduce this behavior, but it occurs frequently.

MacOS Sequoia 15.2 on Apple Silicon
Safari Version 18.2 (20620.1.16.11.8)
Kagi for Safari 2.2.3

When reading a website, I don't expect the page to randomly jump back to the Kagi search results

Same thing occurs for me constantly. Drives me crazy.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if this was a quirk on my system due to a bad extension or other weird customization that I might have made

I've been having the same problem. I think I've seen it on iOS too, but I don't use it as often as my Mac to be sure.

More info: it happened once while I was viewing a different tab. I came back to the tab I had opened through Kagi, and it jumped back to search results while I was not actively using it.
