Lately I noticed that search keywords are regularly ignored even in Verbatim mode.

For example, the following query: https://kagi.com/search?q=ublock+origin+lite+permissions

... produces a (2nd to top) result to https://github.com/gorhill/ublock/wiki/Permissions that doesn't include the phrase "lite", that should make the result irrelevant.

I'm not sure this is a bug, but as far as I can remember keywords were
not ignored in Verbatim mode before, or at least the effects weren't that visible to me. I also understand that the "+" modifier can be used to force the inclusion of the keyword, but I don't expect to have this extra requirement when using Verbatim search.

I expect Verbatim search to produce results that include(d in the time of indexing) all my keywords by default.

Agreed. Can reproduce. What I’ve noticed is the ranking is also different across the day or during the week for EXACTLY the same query. I don’t know why. But whatever ranking algorithm is used, isn’t working reliably.

This does look like a bug, we'll find the cause.

This should be better now, it seems we broke verbatim so it wasn't fully working as it should.
Please try again and let us know if the issue persists.

Thank you for the swift action, results look much better now and even excepts seem to be tailored so they show my keywords! I think you can close this.
