This isn't exactly a duplicate of https://kagifeedback.org/d/5417-slow-search
I am in Australia
The majority of queries take a very long time to respond. Here's a nonsense query as an example:
Kagi reports that this query took 1.29s. This is not my problem, I understand that Kagi aggregates from multiple search engines which takes time.
It takes 3.5 seconds to finish receiving this response via the /search endpoint
A less drastic example: A query for "google" results in a search response time of 0.87s, but 1.69s to download the response. (Unrelated, but this search gives me results for the UK site, even though my region is Australia)
This issue occurs on all of my devices. On my Windows desktop with both Chrome and Firefox. On my Ubuntu laptop with Firefox, and on Android 15 with Firefox.
This issue occurs around 80% of the time. My internet connection is, compared to the majority of Australia, decent. It should not take so long to download 2kb of JSON.
This issue in my opinion makes Kagi feel incredibly slow. If there was some loading spinner or some other indicator it might be better, but I don't understand what causes an additional second or 2 to be added to the response time here, especially because it doesn't always occur. For example, if I search for 'test', Kagi reports 0.75s and I receive it in '0ms' with 32ms of waiting.
