Hi. I would like to suggest adding to the AI assistant the ability to send files to the user, for example, word, excel, pdf documents. This is something I really miss in my daily work.
This functionality is present in the original chatgpt from openai and I would really like to see it in kagi.
The user can use the file sending feature in the following scenarios:
Work tasks:
The user requests the creation of an Excel spreadsheet with calculations (for example, financial models, pivot tables, graphs) and receives a ready-made file for further work.
A request to create a Word document with text (for example, a report, resume, letter template) that the user can edit.
Generate PDF files with summary data, instructions, or reports that can be immediately sent to colleagues or printed out.
Learning objectives:
The user requests a lecture summary, which the assistant generates in Word or PDF format for easy storage and use.
Create presentations or structured files for exam preparation.
Personal tasks:
Generate shopping lists, schedules, or plans in Excel or PDF format for ease of use.
Create personalized documents such as invitations, questionnaires, or templates.
Data processing:
The user uploads the data (for example, in CSV or Excel format), and the assistant processes it and sends it back as a new file with the results (for example, cleaned data or visualization).
How will this complement the existing AI Assistant functionality?
Expanding opportunities: Instead of providing information only in text format, the assistant will be able to send files, which makes it a more versatile tool. For example, if a user requests complex tables or structured documents, the assistant can generate them in the appropriate format and send them.
User-friendliness: Ready-made files can be used immediately in work, which saves time on copying and formatting data.
Integration with current functions: The assistant can use existing functionality (for example, text generation, tables or graphs) and package the results into files for sending. This is especially useful for tasks that require structured data.
Example of a usage scenario:
The user requests: "Create a budget table for me for the next month." The assistant generates a spreadsheet in Excel format and sends a file that the user can download and open in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Or: "Make me a resume based on the information provided." The assistant creates a Word document with a professional design and sends it to the user.
