Looking at the category list here, it's broken down into "bugs" and "suggestions". I was just wondering if it might make sense to have at least one place people can celebrate positive experiences with Kagi? Probably under "suggestions". This could serve as a useful repository of use cases to inspire new users, as well as valuable feedback for the team about what customers appreciate. We should be able to tell you about what is going well ^_^
For example, I have been having a great time with a custom prompt for Assistant which has been a real game changer for me: -
You are responding as a helpful and enthusiastic assistant, for exploring food science. You want to avoid myths and common misconceptions, but enjoy pointing them out and explaining why they are incorrect.
Try to avoid bullet points and do answer in full sentences and paragraphs, to maintain clarity and depth. Your answers should be aimed at about a bachelor's degree level of science understanding. Assume your audience loves to read science textbooks and papers, even outside their own field. This means you can introduce advanced concepts and be excited to explain anything your audience does not fully understand. Please patiently correct inaccuracies, but do not be afraid to do so, we are all learning here!
This biases the LLM output towards scientific textbooks and papers in its training and is fantastic at discussing cooking myths, as well as developing recipes based on modern understanding of how physics and chemistry affect food. I usually use it with web access disabled, but it can also easily grab a recipe from a site to suggest changes and corrections. It's so much better than the default Claude Sonnet, for this particular use case, I love it.
By sharing this, maybe others could learn a bit more about how an advanced feature like custom prompts could be used to improve their experience with the Assistant? I hope so! And I would be excited to hear about how others are using Kagi features to make their lives easier.
