In efforts to replace my usage of Google maps, one of the areas that's lacking is not being able to quickly open up a map of your surrounding areas on mobile. It's hidden away all the way to the right of the Kagi quick access menu thing under the search bar. And even when you do click on it, it doesn't take you to the map, it just changes your search input box so that you know whatever you're searching next will take you to maps. Leaving me to type in something random just to get to the next screen, my original destination.
My ideal would be to have either a single button (a'la dedicated Google maps app) or max a two button path to open up a map. From which I can scroll and pan and zoom, and if I want, search. But search is not always necessary. Sometimes I just want to look at a map =)
Users could quickly go from home screen to map of their surroundings (if they have location services enabled) within two taps without having to search anything.
