For the sake of transparency and maybe community improvements; it might not be a bad idea to open source the kagi mobile app (with clear build instructions so people can actually build it themselves)

I was surprised and disappointed to learn that the Kagi Android mobile app is not Free Software. Given Kagi's commitment to prioritizing user interests over external influences, making the app free software would enhance user control and trust.

Free software promotes transparency and collaboration, aligning with Kagi's mission to empower users and protect their privacy. I encourage Kagi to consider transitioning the app to free software, as it could significantly benefit the user experience.
