I refuse to use any Google services, which means I cannot download Kagi for Android. Can you please distribute the Kagi for Android app on F-Droid or allow for the direct download of the app?

I tried to suggest adding Kagi as a search engine choice in the Vanadium browser, but they declined because Kagi is not free.

Users could download it directly, or obtain it from the F-Droid app store. The F-Droid app store is preferred because it would allow for updates.

Alligator I refuse to use any Google services, which means I cannot download Kagi for Android.

    That's a self-inflicted problem.

But on the other hand, there are Android devices without Google Play Store, and they would benefit from having F-Droid distribution.

Thibaultmol Make it open source then 😄

There is a massive overlap between people who are into privacy, people who are into open source, and people who dont want to use Google as a search engine. Making all clients (or even better: the server too!) open source would be huge and would probably solidify a good chunk of users as well as attract new ones. Not to even mention the open source contributions of people who want to help improve Kagi in a more direct way

You would be better off using Aurora Store. I doubt they are going to make it open source just to post it on the f-droid repo.

This would be a huge win!!

Its not fair that only people with google account can get the kagi search app.

Arent Google supposed to be kagi rivals?!

oh sorry, my bad, that's just the extension not the android app

            No one is typing
