I just signed up for the ultimate plan. The reason was the following - I used Kagi as a niche search engine to search for alternative advice on a very niche, contrarian topic - fixing tooth cavities through oil pulling (and other means).
When searching manually, I found some old blog posts from 2013 on the matter! Way before oil pulling was the craze it is today. This made me very happy and reminded me how VALUABLE a product like Kagi is. Google, by comparison, wouldn't show these result at all. (I scrolled to the 5th page)
In particular, the trinaholden.com result which praises oil pulling and nutrition, is what I found very interesting. (could be true, could not be)
When I tried to replicate this search through AI (using both Claude & Mistral), it would NOT quote that article at all
Despite being a top 3 result, the AI agents would NOT quote it.
Why is that? Is the AI being fed the exact information I see in my manual search?
I would expect the AI to have some wording and reference regarding the 3rd search result
