Make Kagi Android app native like google app

I love the Kagi app because now it takes me 5 seconds shorter to start a search (compared to terrible browser "app" thing). But it still takes a solid 1-2 seconds between click the icon, seeing the dog, and seeing the search bar. While google search is up instantly. I'm guessing google achieves this by making the app run in the background permanently, which is a bad thing, but I think there should be an option in the Kagi app setting to allow that. I use search so often that I'm happy to accept the battery/ram hit to get back that 1-2 seconds at the startup.

User look at their settings, there is a big button that says "make Kagi open faster (but it will impact performance or whatever"
User clicks on it, it probably takes you to android settings to give access to kagi or whatever
Kagi now opens instantly every time

Hey there Atahan,

It's not that the google app is running in the background forever, its just that the google app is a native experience whereas the Kagi app currently has to load a webview and such before showing you the search bar.

We do have plans to make our app native as well, just like the google app so you can instantly start searching without waiting.
I can't give a timeline on that currently but I just wanted to note that it is planned 🙂
