Setting for 'Default Assistant'

Add a setting in https://kagi.com/settings?p=assistant for selecting your default Assistant. When accessing https://kagi.com/assistant with no parameters, it would default to this assistant and settings.

There should be a dropdown box identical to what is shown on the actual Assistant page, with an additional toggle for web on/off, just like on the Assistant page. This would be in a sub-section 'Select Default Assistant'.

An additional option should be present in the dropdown to 'Use most recent settings'. This should also be the default default. Can I say default any more times? Default.

We're considering doing this. Shouldn't it allow you to select any model or Custom Assistant you want, in addition to the "last used" option?

Luis That would be my thought, yes. Essentially the exact same options that you currently get when starting a new Assistant session (Model and Web, including customs) with one additional 'model' added for 'Last Used'. Thats my thought process at least.

Agree, this is so annoying... whenever you've used some random "Custom Assistant" and come back later, it takes 2 mouse clicks and a scroll to fix it and set the "default" one again.

You could use an url and specify the Assistant with ?profile=x, but this is not always possible. For example, a bookmark on the iOS HomeScreen can't have any "custom url parameters", etc.

I think a Kagi setting could be an option / checkbox to set:

[ ] Always use xxxx as default Assistant
[ ] Set "last used" Assistant as default assistant

Nyaa Workaround until they add in the auto updating URL parameters from my other suggestion: you can use the iOS Shortcuts app with Safari->Open Sites and paste in your custom URL. Then add that shortcut to your home screen. I was in the same boat. Hope this helps!
