It would be nice to have the Kagi extension also auto-login to Kagi Translate.

I've noticed that this manifest: https://translate.kagi.com/manifest.json isn't available because it's being redirected to: https://translate.kagi.com/?text=https%3A%2F%2Fmanifest.json&to=en

And while this manifest: https://translate.kagi.com/site.webmanifest does work, the images it defines still aren't available; they're also being redirected like they're URLs to translate.

As someone living and working in different languages, I love the proofreading feature! Just one little quibble: is there any way to stop it from "correcting" a trailing space?

Adding a space after punctuation is standard in many languages. If the AI thinks this applies only when another sentence follows, but I think it's not worth wasting tokens (or the user's attention) on such irrelevant details.

Perhaps there is a bigger issue with how trailing spaces are processed, because if I switch to standard mode (the above screenshot is from "Best" mode), it starts halucinating about the placement of the spaces:

Shouldn’t the UI wording for document translation read “browse your fileS” in plural form?

mvieira we've increased the limit (doubled) shortly after your comment, let us know if you are happy with the limit now.

kotaro I have a vague memory of going over this already, but not sure if it was another user or you. Are you on android or iOS?
dnlz images for definitions are a beta feature, will disable it by default - we are working on adding more sources to prevent this from happening.

@Vlad As a native Japanese speaker, I have been using Kagi Translate with the UI set to Japanese. However, this setting is not being saved, and the interface reverts to English after I restart the PWA a few times.
Could this be because my browser's language is set to English? If so, I would appreciate it if you could fix this.

Giorgio Proofread is still correcting a trailing space as an error. If this is an issue with the model, I‘d suggest stripping trailing whitespace before passing the string to the model (as a workaround).

Another issue I’m having is that the dark theme is rendering black text on black background. This is on Safari on iOS 18.6.2

The CSS looks a little weird and messed up after I entered the page from a bang search. It fixed itself after I toggled around the Appearance setting from System Default to another option and back.

Getting "Validation failed" with the following request using custom proofreading intensity of either Light or Comprehensive, tried on multiple different texts and on both Fast and Best models:

I have just tried a simple translation from English to German, and while the default suggestion is not quite elegant, the suggested alternatives are better. Is there a way to vote for translations, so the Kagi translator can learn about good style?

fj Hey, the problem is that custom formality options like these contain more than 100 chars of context - that's why you are seeing that message. Will look into it 👍️

One minor thing I noticed: When used with a German UI, Kagi Translate's sidebar leaves room for improvement.

The "History" button, labeled "Geschichte", seems to be too narrow for the word? Anyway, I think it should better be labeled "Verlauf" (see also "Verlauf löschen" on the right side); while "history" means both "Geschichte" and "Verlauf" in German, "Geschichte" usually means "stuff that happened in the past, taught in schools", while "Verlauf" is "most recent things in your list", which is better.

In some languages (such as German and Japanese), the formality can't be configured.
It says there's too much context, is it a bug or the paid feature?

Ademalhanolu Regarding the conjugator, we already have one for some languages and could potentially create a generic version for languages that do not have a custom component (yet). Which languages are you interested in? As for the IPA converter, it's definitely doable - we just need to figure out the best place to integrate it in the interface.

tistos Thanks for the detailed message! This is a challenging problem to solve. Your suggestion is interesting, but the concern is that it might be too cumbersome to set up manually, and since it requires user configuration, most people probably won't use it. There must be a more elegant solution - (I hope) (we can find one) 🙂

I'm having a lot of fun with the dictionary section of Kagi Translate, and it is great. I do have some suggestions though:

Do add a conjugator and noun declension section in the dictionary or you can make it into a spearate tab. Even though there are a lot of website that have conjugators and noun declension, but it is lacking in some language and its addition should be considered.

And another one is a converter from text from different languages to IPA based on the language, technically I can go to the translate section and type IPA in the langauge box and it'll do the job but it's more convenient to have a dedicated section for it.

I know it is a bit specific and arcane but please do consider adding it. Thank you.
