Delete a message and response (or branch) in kagi assistant

Currently there's a way to edit a message in an assistant thread to generate a new branch and get a new response. But I'd like to be able to just delete previous messages and then be able to try again.

Sometimes, I want a thread to have one continuous stream of messages for me to reference later. If I had to edit and resend messages, having to go through later and remember which branches I went down to get the information I actually wanted can be annoying in this case.

Are you referring to past messages you regenerate or edit? For the former, this thread will address that #4699

Luis This other post is related, but I didn't even realize that was a problem. What I was referring to was from a UI perspective where I don't even want to see the deleted / replaced query and response at all. Another solution that would be acceptable would be for the branches to remember the ones you last selected, so that when I return I see the full thread as it was when I left it and I can just ignore the branches I don't care about.

Would it be possible to look into this? I see this thread is still tagged as "clarification".

I'm running into the same problem as sud0Nym/xephobia - threads with a ton of dead branches where the LLM went in the wrong direction, and it's hard to go back and find the good branches. Being able to prune old branches would help a lot.

(Another possibility might be to split a particular conversation path into its own thread. Then the old thread with the dead branches can safely be deleted.)

We should be able to delete branches. I often reword my prompt, so I don't need the other branches. Should I create another kagi feedback thread?
