Folders in assistant

A way to make folders or sections in assistant for threads. This would allow users to sort threads into basic sections rather than having them mostly unorganized. If a user doesnt want to use it they would experience no change to workflow.

Its a folder, allows you to organize like threads together and minimize clutter. You could implement it like folders in arc (click and they expand like most other applications do), or an implementation could be made for simple "sections" with a visible break between them on the sidebar.

We have indeed considered adding similar implementations to reduce clutter and provide a flexible and intuitive user experience.

To clarify further on your suggestion, are you envisioning that all threads added to a specific folder would be automatically preserved within that folder? This is because, as you know, in the Assistant, all threads will expire after 24 hours of inactivity unless they are set to remain indefinitely.

For the purpose of folders I was thinking just to organize not preserving --forgetting that I had turned the option to keep them indefinitely. With that mentioned it makes even more sense to include that as well. A folder does 2 purposes 1) organize. 2) preserve them if your settings have threads expire.

I stand by 3 major things being needed in 1). You have to be able to name the folders, you have to be able to drag and drop the threads into/out of them. You have to be able to move a folder between folders so its not just on a "date added" order.

TLDR: what you mentioned wasn't my original idea but I like it better to also include preservation.

I have been using the assistant a lot more for work and it would be nice to expand the capabilities of the quick access area by adding a folder or nested feature.

So currently I use the assistant with various projects and clients I work with so being able to organize it using a folder view would make it a lot more manageable. As an example I have a Client 1 and have multiple meetings and other projects I work on so I would create a folder like so:

Client 1
A. Meeting 10/31
B. Document 1
Client 2
A. Spreadsheet 2

It will allow me to more easily organize the various document I have the assistant analyze or meeting summaries I have it make.

I sometimes return to a project I was working on, but have multiple intervening and unrelated threads. It would be best if I could tag the threads (e.g., Project A Code, Project B Code, Daughter Cooking), and come back to a group of them.

I would like to save assistant threads and group them in more groups that just "Quick Access".

It would be nice to have the possibility to add other groups that behaves exacly as Quick Access, just are user-defined.

This would allow me to create multiple on going threads to use assistant on multiple projects (e.g. one groups for an upcoming holiday, another one for my blog posts, another one for work related stuff ...)

User would use this exactly as they currently use quick access, but with the option to pick or define other groups. The UI might look like a drop-down with the existing groups to select from and the option to create new groups, similar to what slack does
