Sports and Live Score Integration

Bug:

If you try to find results for NHL games after the regular season, they don't show up.

Steps to reproduce:

Search "leafs game" on Kagi (or any team currently in the NHL playoffs)

Searching for "leafs game" should get me info on the latest Toronto Maple Leafs game vs the Boston Bruins (e.g. The one on May 2nd in the first round of the playoffs). Instead it only gets me the last game of the season played against Tampa Bay.

For some European soccer teams, an outdated match history is shown. Examples:

Leicester City FC
Hertha BSC

For the latter team, the result shown is for their last match in the 1. Bundesliga, the club was since relegated to the 2. Bundesliga:

But Leicester City is still playing in the Premier League, and the shown result is similarly outdated:

It would be nice if the match history was up-to-date. If it's easy, it would also be nice if results were shown for teams playing in lower leagues such as the 2. Bundesliga, but I guess that would be a separate wish list item. Failing that, I'd expect match results to be omitted for teams that were relegated to a lower league, such as Hertha BSC.

When I search a sports team, all the games are in the past, it would be great to see the next game and what time it starts.

I'd like to see this integration expanded to more sports if possible such as tennis. I frequently like to check the scores of the various tournaments.

Also, it maybe a good idea to look at the region selected for the search if it's not already done. For example, when I search for football scores it appears it returns soccer scores rather than NFL or college football scores even though US is set as the region. I've attached a screenshot showing this.

I searched for “MLB scores” without quotes, to find out who won the playoff game last night. These results are less than worthy of a paying subscription search engine.

I expected to see the actual team names listed.

I just want to know a team name rather than NL Higher Seed and NL Lower Seed.

Just adding a +1 to this, with another current example. A search for "Australian Open" on Google gives a very comprehensive interactive widget of current & upcoming matches in the tournament. Kagi doesn't give any sports widget at all.

This is a Google feature that I greatly appreciate. I see Kagi has a basic implementation already, but it's pretty barebones. Sometimes it is harder to get Kagi to display the sports card (example: searching "super bowl score" fails, "chiefs eagles score" works). The UI is also pretty poor; Google's is much cleaner, tends to show more information, and even includes the team logos.

I was thinking, wouldn't it be possible to add a lens just for sports? That way Kagi wouldn't have any trouble with terms.

Couldn't ask for this feature enough.. Sports widgets are one of the main features that always bring me back to Google.

Really, really want the Sports Widget thing that Google has. I know getting that data is challenging and likely expensive. I'd be okay if Kagi could - as an account setting - automatically identify queries that would typically show the sports widget if Googled and send those queries to Google.

It's not just stuff like "<team name that is currently playing or has played today> score'. A common one I do at least three times a week is 'PL scores'. On Google, that will give me the nice widget that shows me the winners/losers in the EPL. Kagi generates a result that makes me frown and I have to go put !g at the start of my query to get the right result 🙁

A scenario where sometimes Kagi gets 'confused' with which 'Predators' (referring to the featured reply here) people are searching for is preferable to Kagi never producing the correct output, which is a score widget. Anyway, one way to deal with the Predators Problem is to query the SportsAPI for both Predators and see who played today/is currently playing. Show whichever is more recent - that's likely the correct answer to the query.

Specifically for sports like football, honestly it's the only thing that keeps me coming back to google.
