I do use the model switcher a couple times per day. I use the web search switcher fairly constantly.

I do the same with Open WebUI - I change models occasionally, and often toggle web search. I will probably go back to Open WebUI for now, because I am frequently losing my train of thought due to the cramped margins.

May I ask, to what extent have you tested the assistant on smaller screen sizes? Could the controls be moved depending on the size of the screen?

We’ve tested the product on different screen sizes and know there are some challenges, especially on smaller screens and very large ones like 5K monitors, where unused space can be a bit tricky. Our mission was to release the product, gather feedback and improve.

The model and web controls are key for setting up the Assistant before you submit a prompt, and we’re definitely looking into ways to make these tools more user-friendly (across different screen sizes).

I have overall been impressed with The Assistant, especially the web search & custom assistants. I'll definitely keep it in my toolbox.

When using The Assistant on my phone I noticed that the bottom part is taking a lot of space, especially with the text shadow applied and browser's default search bar.

Somehow reduce the size of the bottom part, maybe have an option in settings for compact mode. Maybe remove the scroll to bottom button, or move it to the side. Just make it all more compact to not take 1/3 of the screen on phones.

On a side note I noticed that the Jump Down button has an animation, after clicking it won't stop and becomes very distracting, jumping constantly up and down.

Firefox on Android has quite a large menu bar on the bottom, but can't make it more compact unfortunately.

Maybe also the text "Assistant can make mistakes. Think for yourself when using it." should only be shown for fresh threads and then disappear when there is some content inside the thread.
