Boost a specific URL, not just a domain

Sometimes I search for “GitHub <repo>” and I have a specific repo in mind, but I don't know the author so I can't type out the url or use that to narrow the search. Sometimes there are multiple GitHub repos with the same name, different authors, and Kagi displays them in (as far as I'm concerned) a more or less arbitrary order.

I'd like to be able to boost the score of the specific url I have in mind, not just the domain overall, so that if it matches the search it goes to the top. This way I wouldn't have to sort through same-named GitHub repos that I'm not looking for.

To save specific URLs, you should use the bookmark feature that is built into your web browser.

carl Not portable between browsers, and I don't really visit these sites enough to bookmark them.

I've had a need for this for versioned technical docs - e.g. Ceph versions based on release name. It's not uncommon for Google/Kagi to return results for many different versions. I think this is compounded by search engine's attempts to reduce duplicated content, so it's not uncommon for the older version to be returned, instead of a newer version of the same(ish) content.

So in my mind, it would be nice to remove/"prioritize" (in terms of deduplication) based on sub-path.

silvenga Would Kagi Redirects work for you? For example, to redirect old versions of Ceph documentation results to the latest version, add the following rule to https://kagi.com/settings?p=redirects:

^(https://docs.ceph.com/en)/[^/]+/?(.*)|$1/latest/$2

Replace latest with squid or whatever stable release you'd prefer.

andelink Not really, since the content changes, and I only want to search the latest content (more an issue with say, bootstrap docs).

These sites typically have the ability to change the version with a click, but it depends on the newer version having the exact same URL, which isn't the case, especially docs that span years.
