Hello Kagi team,
As you can see, the new assistant page didn't load correctly on librewolf (firefox too maybe?), on left librewolf and on right edge. On librewolf, nothing work since the model dropmenu get stuck on "loading..."

Thank you !

    Firefox version is: 115.14.0esr (64-bit)

Happens for me as well in Firefox, this is unacceptable.
@Vlad Whats the point of the beta test if it doesn't work at release ?
Right now I cannot use the product I pay for because of your borked release

It works in Chrome but not Firefox? Seriously? You've catered to tech giants' browsers while ignoring Firefox users. For a company claiming to 'humanize the web,' this oversight is both insulting and hypocritical. Do you actually care about user choice, or just the bottom line?

Hi all, sorry for the let down - we're currently using a browser feature that the version of Firefox you are using doesn't support (it's one version behind).

If there are updates available to you to use a newer base version of Firefox, that should fix it in the meantime, but the team is aware and we'll see if we can make a quick fix for the compatibility. Appreciate your patience 🙏

Mackou The issue seems specific to Firefox ESR 115 (one major version behind the version we use) and some older version of Librewolf. Regular Firefox works fine [1]. The latest ESR (128) [2] and Librewolf (129) [3] releases are also functioning as expected. Could you double check which Firefox release you are using?

I just updated librewolf, and I confirm it work great now on latest version, thank you for checking that.

Hey, thanks for reaching out! I apologize if my previous message seemed heated. I was surprised and frustrated when I suddenly couldn't use the assistant when I needed it. Checking if I'm using the latest Firefox version should have been my first step.

Updating firefox solved the issue for me. (Firefox 130.0)
Version 130.0 flatpak also works fine.

I was using Firefox 120.0.1 Flatpak:

I'm having the same problem with Firefox 115 ESR. Unfortunately Firefox 115 is the newest version available on Debian via the official package manager, and the next ESR release Firefox 128 probably won't be available for another few weeks. In the meantime, I can only use Kagi Assistant on my laptop, where I do have a newer version of Firefox available.

Ideally this compatibility issue can be addressed since this is affecting all Debian users using Firefox.

Maybe switching to flatpak would be a solution for you ?

xudongz You can use the old Assistant through this URL: https://kagi.com/v1_assistant, until ESR 128 is available to you.
Unfortunately, after investigating, there is no easy solution to immediately support these older versions.

I'm having the same issue accessing Assistant with Firefox from Debian's APT.
Firefox 115.15.0ESR is not that old... Also, make sure you include, in your tests before deploying something, whatever browser is packed by default in Debian, as I suspect that that is what a lot of your users are using.

Please fix this compatibility issue asap, as I'm currently paying for a service I cannot use.

z64 changed the title to Assistant page don't load correctly on Firefox ESR, librewolf .

The new "The Assistant" does not seem to be working on my version of Firefox on a MacBook laptop.

                  • The sidebar does not seem to be loading, or formatted, correctly (see attached screenshot).
                  • The drop down below the search box to select an assistant seems to be stuck on "Loading..."
                  • You can enter text in the search box but when you press return or click on the start search triangle button the search box is cleared of the text and nothing happens.

My current Kagi Status is shown as:
                  "...
                  Status
                  Connected to: AUSTRA-SOUTHEAST1
                  Network latency: 31ms
                  ..."

MacBook operating system is macOS Big Sur 11.7.10.
Firefox is reported as "up to date" with version 115.15.0esr (64-bit). All extensions turned off.

I have logged out and back in to Kagi and the same problem occurs.

Assistant to work with Firefox as it has in the past.

works perfect for me. Maybe because your software is outdated.

macos is currently at 14.5 and FF is 130 . Try pressing cmd+shift+R that will give a new reload to your page

The Assistant requires some features Firefox ESR 115 does not have. The team is looking into it. In the meantime, if possible, please consider upgrading to ESR 128 to fix the issue.

Merged 3 posts from New Assistant not working with Firefox on Macbook.

                          Thank you all.

I can see the issue now - I was using Firefox "Extended Support Release", mistakenly thinking it would be the most stable and reliable. (screenshot attached.)

I have now reinstalled Firefox from the "Standard" (?) release and that now seems to work correctly. (screenshot attached).

                          Apologies for not checking that.
