  • When using the new assistant page, if "web access" is selected, it says "something went wrong"

When using the assistant with "web access enabled", when I type a prompt, after a few seconds of showing the spinner, I get the message "something went wrong while trying to get you your response", but then quite a bit later it does replace that with an actual response prefaced by "<thinking>". Looking at the network tab in the browser it looks like there's only one request sent, the original error message is not triggered by a server error but just timing out? And then after about 40s when the response comes back it gets replaced by the actual answer.

      This is around 5:45pm Oct 3, 2024 Pacific. Not sure if there was a deployment or something else causing this but wanted to call it out.

              I experience a similar issue:

              From my experience the response is generated at a normal speed (10-20 tokens/sec), then suddenly drops to 1 token every few seconds and then ends in that error message.

                I know I can regenerate the answer, but I think it's more of a "power user" knowledge. For someone using it for the first time it's a very unfriendly error message.

                    We have dramatically improved resilienece of handling API errors from LLMs and I expect this is brought to minimum. Is anyone still seeing the errors?

                        @Vlad any update on this issue?

                        This error happens almost constantly to me, even in Orion browser. It doesn't matter whether i'm in Private mode or not.
                        iPad, Desktop, Firefox, i tried everything, but it's happening everywhere.

                        I also tried different LLM's , but i'm still seeing the issue. Just now tried GPT-4o and Mistral Large, both generate the same error.

                        PS: Refreshing the page after like 10 seconds, seems. to "works around" the issue and displays the results.

                        Only disabling "Web Access" prevents the issue from happening.
