The last few days, SafeSearch off worked just fine for image searches. Now suddenly I'm only getting sanitized results even though I have all SafeSearches off. This issue just started suddenly and wasn't a problem literally days ago.
I should see all images, not just 'safe' ones.
EDIT: Note that this is affecting video searches as well.
So NSFW images have returned, but now they're all blurred with seemingly no way to unblur them (like how videos display, which I wish you would fix as well.)
Today it's back to not showing any (blurred) NSFW images, and only showing SFW images. What exactly is going on here that it's so inconsistent?

NSFW images are being blurred in image search, even for non-sexual searches, with safe search turned off.

The page is almost nothing but blurred photos, which defeats the purpose of having the search in the first place. It negates the point of being able to turn safe search off .
None of them should be blurred. This isn't even sexual content.

I would expect that with "Safe Search" off, then an "Images" search such as "nude yoga poses" would return poses showing nudity without blur. This is especially true for NSFW but non-sexual searches.
Alternately, with "Safe Search" off, one of the "Images" search option controls should allow unblurring of NSFW results.
Otherwise, what is the point of a "Safe Search" option, when what we basically have is a hard enough "Safe Search" restriction as to make the search untenable. Who wants to click dozens of blurred images to find out what the search results are?

Yes, I am aware of that. I mention "safe search" in the title and three times in my comments.
I also noticed this, although, the blurred image was likely incorrectly marked as NSFW (it was a stock photo of a women in a swimsuit). It just stood out because everything else was not blurred, so I investigated.
Safe search is disabled for me.
Same experience here -- recently many images are being blurred, nsfw or otherwise, rendering the image search unusable.
Same problem here, extremely annoying, please fix this or I will cancel my subscription. I purchased a subscription to avoid tech companies deciding what I do and don't get to see, not to have some automated system ignore my settings to disable image safe search.
I'm a new subscriber to Kagi and overall enjoying it but not feeling inspired by such a basic feature being broken and a complete lack of response after a month. Is this normal? Is the company extremely small? Feeling a bit concerned about Kagi in the long-term if this is the norm.
I don't believe the type of power users drawn to Kagi are usually families.

Not sure how it is supposed to work, but searching for "nude yoga poses" with image safe search enabled does show nudity.
I would expect these images to be blurred when image safe search is enabled
