Just got this too, with Mullvad. FWIW it worked when I used one of Mullvad's proxies. I understand that the current line is "we can't do anything about this as our hosting provider blocks stuff", but to echo sentiments above, I think if your hosting provider blocks VPN traffic to your search engine, and you can't do anything about it, you need to migrate to a new provider. I've cancelled my subscription for now, but I might change my mind, I don't know. It depends on if Kagi's hosting provider keeps tightening the noose on a free internet. My experience with these things is that generally, a proxy is a temporary workaround, and once they start blocking one VPN they slowly keep chipping away at not only proxies, but other VPNs too. They always start with Mullvad because Mullvad is actually committed to end-user security, and depending on how charitable you're being, that means they are more likely to be used by bad actors, or these hosting providers really hate a free and equitable internet. Either way, blocking VPNs is pretty much the antithesis of what Kagi is supposed to stand for, and I would hope they would care about that.
