Widgets have been a quick way of glancing information directly on search page results on most (if not all) relevant search engines (Google, Bing, DDG, Yandex (I suppose, can't test it a work now)) and Kagi IMO has been lacking a lot in those features.
I've seen responses from Vlad in other feedback stating that widgets are going to be refactores/remade and it's coming soon™️, but so far we have heard nothing of it, while AI, which I guess is probably a money sink has been getting lots of dev time.
I'm not against integrating AI in a search engine, but I think this should be done after doing the basics right.
This is with regards to Weather widget (today it's only static), stocks widget (doesn't work for all markets, sometimes just doesn't show up), sports scores (especially now with the olympic games, I was eager to check medal board and see some scores, but Kagi is lacking a lot in this regard) and many other stuff that is just simple objective stuff that could be presented without forcing us to go into another page.
I'll be honest. I like Kagi a lot, and I want to support what you stand for. I also understand that you are a small team and don't have the resources that those big corporations have, but I would really like to see some progress in those UX/UI features that seem "abandoned".
