If you are unable to reproduce this with Firefox ESR, maybe it is a security setting I have toggled in my browser. Before reporting this, I did try turning some things off, but please let me know if it would be helpful if I kept playing around.

Oops, it appears that Firefox ESR has updated from 115 to 128 a few weeks ago! Since I expect that updating my browser will fix the issue, I'd be happy to have this bug be considered closed for now. If updating my browser does not result in a fix, I'll share an update.

The issue was that we used the CSS :has selector which is not supported in Firefox 115. Anyway, I fixed for that version.

pdm Unfortunately, my fix inadvertently caused another significant issue, so the problem with the 115 version of Firefox remains unresolved. To be honest, I don't believe the issue lies on our end.
