Upload files to Custom Assistants

+1 - this would be incredibly helpful. I can upload documents like my W-2s or tax docs (redacted ofc) and engage with it to help me improve my financial or tax planning, and I don't trust Claude / OAI with my data.

achilles I have sorta-kinda gotten around this by using DigitalOcean file buckets to store PDFs and then I create a custom assistant to point to the bucket PDF URLs. I don't LIKE this solution, but I accept it as a work-around.

I would love to see this feature come to Kagi Assistant. This functionality is the one thing that still ties me to tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity. For example, I have many diet restrictions and love that I can upload documents my doctors have provided to a ChatGPT project and ask it if I can eat X or if it can give me a meal that fits my diet restrictions.

One other thing that seems to be a problem now (and I'm sorry that IDK which ticket deals with A LOT of the AI breakage and rebuild that happened with the most recent Assistant upgrade) is that I have to create a Lens to point to assistant-specific URLs and turn on THAT Lens as a part of Web Search IN LIEU OF the old behavior which was to have the URLs be in the Custom Asst. prompt directly and turn off ALL web search (because the prompt had the search details already embedded in it).

I accept this behavior BUT it's annoying and feels like a regression where I have to do THREE things (PDFs in a bucket, custom assistant prompt, Lens) instead of TWO thing in the past (PDFs in a bucket, custom assistant prompt)
