Add option to remove NSFW Video Thumbnail Blur in Video Search

"I am writing to inquire about the possibility of disabling the blur on video search results. I have successfully adjusted the settings to remove the blur for image search results, but the same does not seem to apply to video search results."

Users should be able to view NSFW video thumbnails without blur by changing a setting, just like they can for image search.

Hi. I don't like the fact that Kagi blurs out the preview for results it deems NSFW. It makes the previews useless, they may as well not exist. I'd like a toggle option in settings that, when enabled, prevents (video) search results from being blurred.

Vlad What "Language" do you want to say? I searched everywhere and there is no option to disable blured results for video, we just need that option, I will not be using a search engine that restricts the searching ability, and even one that is payed.

I agree. We need an additional option in settings, similar to Search > Privacy > Image Safe Search, but which applies to videos. There is currently no way to remove the blur for NSFW video thumbnails.

Has this been considered? Image toggle works perfectly but the video tab it’s like it’s another service external to Kagi

Yeah, I'd be curious about their progress in general. I've finally signed up for an unlimited plan to get away from Google, but I notice a lot of bugs and jank. Would be real curious to know how quickly they progress on issues.

I'm an artist and i draw for a living, usually the models/references that i use are of nude people, and i loved the search engine but it just makes my life so much harder having to click to see each and every one of the results, its the only reason i havent subscribed

Hi Lunasta - I believe we have since had the issue with image search addressed. Please let me know if you are still having issues with images, I wasn't able to reproduce today. This was due to a bug with our upstream provider; Kagi does not implement any blurring of content.

Yeah, I was just hit by this. Basically forced to click the link if I wanted to see what the video actually was, because the blur makes the thumbnail unusable. Effectively just made me instantly skip off of Kagi because the search became unusable.

There should probably be two options:

Show thumbnail on hover, same way the auto play works. This should be the default if you have safe search turned off.
Full unhide, no blurring at all
