When searching on Safari for iOS, having used the Kagi extension to set Kagi as the default search engine, before the Kagi search result page is displayed the Google search results page appears briefly. This means, I suppose, that Google still gets to 'see' what I'm searching for.
(Also, Safari says that the search suggestions are provided by Google, but that may be untrue.)
I'd expect to bypass Google entirely.
