Observed Behaviour:
When using a custom lens, selecting 'recency' in the dropdown menu sorts all hits by source first, and then by date. This results in essentially producing separate lists of all articles from domains specified in the lens, most recent to oldest, rather than one list. See example 1 and 2:
For some of these lists, the sorting is entirely broken. See example 3.
This happens when using a custom lens. I have not noted this behaviour in normal search.
Steps to replicate the issue:
Create a custom lens with multiple domains.
Make a search using it.
Sort by 'recency'.
Expected behaviour:
A single, continuous list of articles, sorted from most recent to oldest, using sources from all domains specified in the lens.
Essentially, I expect similar behaviour to what I see when doing a regular search and sorting by 'recency', as below:
