hellstorm changed the title to Disable fuzzy matches .

hellstorm If I'm understanding correctly, you would like a search mode that does the equivalent of interpreting a query of

    foo bar baz

    as

    "foo" "bar" baz"

    ?

More likely "foo bar baz". This would be the equivalent of Google's Verbatim mode. Which we can include as a fourth option in main SERP.

Vlad Not really. If I want a phrase, I usually don’t forget the quotes. It’s when I type in individual search terms where I expect foo AND bar AND baz rather than one or maybe two including similar terms.

Also, it would be cool to add operators for synonyms chosen by me, for example if I'm looking for foo AND (bar OR baz) query could be foo bar|baz or something like this.

And I would love to see:

          instead of:

So, I would love to have "fuzzy search" as an option, not default behavior.

PS For query from screens Kagi found this article: https://news.routley.io/posts/the-next-google.html
I can't find this in Google, so here +1 for Kagi 😀

Is this feature now live? How do I turn it on? I have wanted to disable fuzzy matching since the world was young. Bless you hellstorm for suggesting this and bless you kagi for implementing it.

Wonderful! It looks like the popup display continues to show “All results” after I select “Verbatim.” The feature is working AFAICT, but the popup button’s display is not refreshing correctly. In the screenshot you provided above, what I am seeing is Verbatim in bold with a check, but All Results still showing in the label text. If I get the label to show Verbatim, it reverts to All Results as soon as I execute a search.

              No one is typing
