andelink Well, yes and no. Browser history obviously encompasses all websites and as shown by the post I replied to may not be the easiest thing to access. The fact that it encompasses all sites means that narrowing it down to searches is a task.
If I just search for kagi.com in the history, that'll bring up everything under kagi.com (help.kagi.com, kagi.com/assistant, translate.kagi.com, kagi.com/summarizer). If I search in the browser for kagi.com/search, that totally excludes image queries that I may want to include. I don't know of any browser history with any advanced search operators that could solve that , and even so that's quite complex for the average user.
I think there's value in a databasing system that stores searches and their metadata, not just URLs in browser history. For example, image and web searches for the same search term could be "bundled" together, reducing clutter and redundant listings. Quick Answer prompts could be searched and categorized as well, something impossible to my knowledge with browser history. Pair all that with the ability to accurately sort, search, and narrow down history (while keeping total control over where your data is stored) and I think it's a proposition that users desiring to save their search history would find quite handy.

I would like an opt-in toggle in settings to save searches and queries for Kagi Search and FastGPT.

As someone who uses FastGPT extensively, I would like to be able to easily save the output, either with a copy text button or by saving the input/output with Kagi.

This simple feature allows users to save their searches, letting them see their search history and their past FastGPT queries/answers.

I like @RoxyRoxyRoxy 's thoughts! I also can understand @andelink 's position on this. I think a "local" storage option is a good compromise. And considering that Kagi's market is a subset of the regular search crowd I don't think tech-savyness should be as pressing a concern. Something like an option to toggle into Kagi interacting with a self owned db either like generic cloud or something homespun; the main purpose being to have useful stats/history stored in this db and being able to access it wherever you're logged into Kagi. This taken together with fastgpt as @Provisional suggested would make it insanely powerful.

In the meantime, however, I want to pile onto the alternative methods already recommended in this thread and say that I've been using ManicTime recently to search my things and it's performing wonderfully. It scans everything I've ever done since I started using it (nearly 4 years of activity!) lightning quick and provides neat metrics while its at it. That is, if the thing I'm searching for happened on my computer...

Today I was having a feeling this would be nice on mobile. On mobile you might accidentally close the app and lose your search. And def if you use something like the app instead of a browser tab, you can only have one search at a time. So today I kinda wish I could 'go back' to a search i was doing before.

This could be stored in the mobile app locally

adm I think Kagi already has plenty of user data that they could monetize if they wanted. Sure, a personal search history would add a lot more, but in the end, I think that the question is about trust. Right now I trust Kagi, and as search history feature would not change that.

This is the one thing keeping me from subscribing and using Kagi as my daily search provider.

I want a privacy focused search that I pay for so they don't have to sell my data, that can keep my data history for me to search.

Obviously this should be opt-in and the settings very clear for users to opt out of.
Maybe a way to make everyone happy is the ability to transfer history to a local or third-party database and also sell history saving through Kagi as an option.

Idk, I make 1000s of searches a week and need my history in a cleaner, searchable, cross-device available option so that all searches, mobile, web, etc are all in one place.
