Give an interactive calculator for unit conversions.

A common thing I would do on Google was look up "kg to lbs" or some other unit. This would of course give the answer of 2.2lbs, which is what's on Kagi, however Google also will pop up a little calculator to interactively let you play with numbers right away without mucking with the search bar.

I cannot imagine that this would be terribly hard? You're already detecting that it's a unit conversion, so I would think that all you have to do is load a quick little conversion widget.

The easiest example I can think of is to go to Google.com. Type "kg to lbs". Hit enter.

This will give the suggested answer of 2.2lbs, but also pop up a widget that allows the user to interactively play with the numbers without having to refresh or send a new request to do it.

Current workaround is to use the !calc bang: !calc kg to lbs

sefidel That's a little better but still kind of awkward for a non-engineer. You have to type out the full conversion every time (e.g. 4kg to lbs), and you have to hit "up" to reuse the last one. If you live in the terminal and type quickly that's fine, but if you're on a phone or you don't spend every day in Vim, it's a little awkward.

tombert I see, you want the widget to work pretty much identically to Google's. In that case, please disregard my post above.

I'd like this for currency conversion, and yes, the same way Google's works 'in search'. I just want to type a currency code (say USD) and the USD conversion to come up.

I don;t know how Google always knows that I want to convert to GBP (likely all the tracking) but that's handy too. Maybe it's based on location and easy to pull in?
