search for anything like "best [pick any subject here] 2024" (and probably others) seem to take way too much time to load.

tested in France by myself and in New York by a friend.

France:

New York:

I would have expected faster results.
maybe some sources perform less better when they detect potential "commercial interest" ?

seems related with prepending best to the search query... using that word triggers the use of the discussions widget.
disabling the discussions widget makes it faster !

Just a quick test, I live in the US (southern area) and observe this, too.

The search java TreeSet yielded 51 relevant results in 0.56s
The search kotlin language yielded 62 relevant results in 1.02s
The search best cafe new york yielded 47 relevant results in 3.9s
The search best earbuds 2024 yielded 29 results in 4.43s

I can confirm the page is waiting for the eventsource type to finish before loading the search results

seems like extracting the content from those discussions takes about 4.30 seconds for this particular example

        with Discussions widget disabled:

        Quite faster 🙂

@Vlad, May I suggest to separate fetching of widget data from search results ? this would allow for faster result loading and display.
